Flight Operations Director (NPFO) &
Head of Training (NPCT)

We are currently looking to recruit a nominated postholder role of joint Flight Operations Director (NPFO) and Head of Training (NPCT) to join our Head Office based near Glasgow. The dual NFPO/NPCT role is ideal for a highly driven, focussed leader with flying and managerial experience of Flight Operations and Training either in private aviation or commercial aviation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Direct report to the Accountable Manager on regulatory matters.
  • Liaison with the competent authority on all operational matters and ensuring that our operations are in compliance with current legislation and the terms of the Air Operators Certificate (AOC) we hold.
  • The promotion of safety and standards for all company flight operations and training.
  • Following the guidelines of the roles laid out in the company Operations Manual Part A.
  • Working in conjunction with the Safety Manager and Flight Safety Officer to promote our safe operations.
  • Liaison and co-ordination with the Ground Operations Manager (GOM) as well as other stakeholders to drive efficiency in our Flight Operations.
  • General supervision of the operations department, including operations staff and ground operations at Luton.
  • Own, maintain and oversee and update the content of the operations manual and amending parts A, B and C and D as required.
  • Supervision and approval of all notices to aircrew (NTAs).
  • Supervision and approval of all airfield categorisation and airfield briefings.
  • Oversight and strategic planning of crew training in liaison with the company training co-ordinator.
  • The management of the company Approved Training Organisation (ATO) scheme.
  • Participate in Safety Action Group (SAG) and Safety Review Board (SRB) meetings to assess hazards, identify/implement risk mitigation as required and support the SAG in decision making regarding acceptable levels of risk.
  • Support the Accountable Manager by attending SRB meetings to monitor the safety and key performance indicators of the company and implement improvement as required.
  • Manage day to day risk by applying sound judgement through experience or a formal risk assessment using the Centrik risk module and tolerability evaluation as specified in the management manual.
  • Carrying out the appropriate training and checking in accordance with the OM Part D.

Requirements

  • Senior flight operations management experience is essential
  • Business / executive VVIP aviation background is preferred but not required.
  • It would be an advantage to hold or have held a valid EASA ATPL Flight Crew Licence (FCL) and Class 1 aviation medical as well as a UK ATPL FCL.
  • High operational standards, safety awareness and exceptional crew resource management skills
  • Previous experience on the Embraer 135/145 Regional Jet or Legacy 600/650 Business Jet.
  • Previous postholder experience would be an advantage.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and strong commercial spirit
  • Highly organised and motivated
  • Familiar with Microsoft packages
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Centrik and Leon would be an advantage
