FLIGHT OPERATIONS MANAGER (MALTA)

We are currently looking to recruit a Flight Operations Manager to join our award-winning business in Malta. Our team at Air Charter Scotland Europe support the business in Malta and worldwide. We have built a reputation as one of the most reliable private jet operators in the UK and are the preferred private jet operator for some of the world’s biggest brands, leaders & celebrities.

The Flight Operations Manager is a person appointed by ACS, to assist the ACS Flight Operations Director (NPFO) with the overall management and administration of flight operations within the company.

Your Responsibilities

  • Liaison with the competent authority on all operational matters and ensuring that ACS
  • Europe operations are in compliance with current legislation and the terms of the AOC
  • The safety and standards of all company flight operations in liaison with the company head of training
  • Determining, in conjunction with the Safety Manager and Flight Safety Officer
  • Company’s policy in relation to it’s safety management system
  • Liaison and co-ordination with the Ground Operations Manager
  • General supervision of the operations department, including operations staff and ground operations at Luton
  • Oversee content of the operations manual and amending parts A, B and C as required
  • Monitoring and approving the content of the operations manual excluding Part D
  • Supervision and approval of all notices to aircrew (NTAs)
  • Supervision and approval of all airfield categorisation and airfield briefings. The Head of Training, the Technical Pilot and Flight Safety Officer may compose airfield briefings for approval by the Flight Operations Director
  • Participate in Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings to assess hazards, identify/ implement risk mitigation as required and support the SAG in decision making regarding acceptable levels of risk
  • Support the Accountable Manager by attending safety review board meetings to monitor the safety performance of the company and to implement improvement actions as required
  • Manage day to day risk by applying sound judgement through experience or a formal risk assessment using the Centrik risk module and tolerability evaluation as specified in the management manual
  • Carrying out the self-audit programme for the department

Requirements

  • Senior flight operations management experience is essential
  • Business / executive VVIP aviation background is preferred
  • It would be an advantage to hold or have held a valid EASA flight crew licence and Class 1 aviation medical
  • High operational standards, safety awareness and exceptional crew resource management skills
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and strong commercial spirit
  • Highly organised and motivated
  • Familiar with Microsoft packages
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Must have the right to live and work in Malta without restrictions
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Centrik and Leon would be an advantage
